BioForMoz implements research on biodiversity and conservation through training and research grants, in order to develop specific skills for the Mozambican institutions dedicated to these activities.

- Genetic (phylogeographical) differentiation of Prostephanus truncatus (Horn) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae) in Moçambique.
- DNA barcode for assessment of specific and phylogenetic biodiversity in pollinators (Diptera: Syrphidae): Chimanimani National Reserve, Manica Province, Mozambique.
- Genetic Diversity Based on 21 autoxomic STRs from Mozambican ethnolinguistic groups.
The following research lines are developed by research fellowships:
- Molecular Ichthyology: From river to river: the study of genetic migration in fishes.
- Genetic characterization of wild mammals: Evaluation of the genetic characteristics of the African buffalo in Mozambique, respecting the biogeographical regions.
- Review and identification taxonómica, morfológica e molecular da biodiversidade de Himenópteros, polinizadores da Colecção de Insectos do Museu de História Natural de Maputo, Moçambique.
